No signed and funded baseline, no project start.

Use this gate before kickoff. A friendly conversation, a tentative “yes,” or access to a client system does not replace aligned scope, authorized signatures, confirmed funding, and explicit ownership.

Project pre-start gate

Confirm the commercial baseline.

This is one working checklist from the complete ten-file system. Apply the signed contract, approved payment route, and current platform rules for the actual engagement.

1. Scope and acceptance

  • Outcome, deliverables, exclusions, and acceptance evidence align.
  • Price or rate, milestones, timeline, and client responsibilities align.
  • The approved baseline version is recorded.
  • Dependencies, review windows, and consequences of client delay are explicit.

2. Authority and funding

  • Authorized parties signed through the approved process.
  • The required deposit or milestone is confirmed through the approved payment route.
  • Platform communication and payment rules are understood and followed.
  • The decision maker, reviewers, project owner, and response expectations are confirmed.

3. Access and safeguards

  • Required inputs and least-privilege access are available.
  • Credentials are not copied into this workspace.
  • Confidentiality, privacy, security, retention, IP, accessibility, and legal requirements are recorded.
  • Third-party services or expenses require the agreed written approval.

4. Kickoff control

  • Outcome, exclusions, dates, risks, and acceptance are reconfirmed.
  • The change-request path is explained before work begins.
  • The first client decision and next status update are scheduled.
  • Every material unknown has an owner and resolution date.

Stop condition

Do not start or continue when scope, authority, contract status, funding, access, safety, legality, or the next approval is materially unclear. Route changed work through the signed agreement and obtain required written approval and funding before performing it.
